Refreshing an iconic Kiwi brand with headless commerce.
Barker’s of Geraldine is still on a corner of the original family farm in South Canterbury. Our tech stack has revolutionised their online brand experience.
Barkers of Geraldine approached us to help rebuild their outdated website, as the business turned its focus to new digital and eCommerce possibilities. They needed a scalable solution that could respond to evolving business models - from subscriptions to storefronts - and adapt easily for both new markets (e.g. Australia) and sub-brands (e.g. Anathoth Farms).
We built Barkers' new site with with our headless eCommerce stack, enabling us to tailor customer experience around the user journeys and need states we identified in our discovery and design phases. The result is not just another eCommerce store, but a rich brand experience that has strong content pillars of recipes, learning and heritage.
We're really proud of the functionality and user experience that we were able to achieve by building a fully custom frontend, whilst still utilising the power of Shopify as the eCommerce engine.
